12 Books for 12 Months (Bookstagram Edition)

When I asked my friends over on my Bookstagram what I had to read in 2026, they understood the assignment. What followed was a flood of thoughtful, passionate recommendations—each one picked just for me. These twelve books make up part of my 2026 reading list, and I can’t wait to see which ones become new favourites. I have no idea what month I’ll be reading what books in… just going to let my mood decide as I go. This post is a love letter to those recommendations: the stories, genres, and voices that will shape my reading year ahead.

  1. Aimee @ booksbyaimee recommended Beautiful Ugly by Alice Feeney (mystery/thriller).
  2. Elle @ shelfinducedchaos recommended First-Time Caller by B.K. Borison (romance).
  3. Beth @ bethbutbookish_ recommended Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross (fantasy).
  4. Jo @ bookish.zebra recommended Out on a Limb by Hannah Bonam-Young (romance).
  5. Arda @ ardizzle_x recommended The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin (contemporary).
  6. Autumn @ autumnfielding_author recommended The Other Brother by Tierney Page (romance).
  7. Mrs C @ mrsc.lovestoread recommended The Favourites by Layne Fargo (contemporary).
  8. Katie @ katie_thebookslayer recommended This Spells Love by Kate Robb (romance).
  9. Em @ bookishemx recommended The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen (fantasy).
  10. Mia @ fawnsandfairytales recommended Tusk Love by Thea Guanzon (fantasy).
  11. Jade @ jadesnovelnook recommended A Study in Drowning by Ava Reid (fantasy).
  12. Dani @ what_dani_read recommended Water Moon by Samantha Sotto Yambao (fantasy).

Have you read any of these yet? What book would you recommend me to check out?

Oooooh interesting! I’ve never read from Hannah Bonham-Young before so a little apprehensive… I’m excited for First-Time Caller though 🙂

I’ll have to check that I’m following everyone from this post on Instagram too when I catch up on there later on today. This is my cosy corner of the internet dedicated to all things books. I am an avid reader of mainly romance, fantasy, YA and mystery/thriller books. I hope to connect with other readers who share the same love for books that I do!
